Finney Farm is a 101+acres located in Skagit County, Washington. We are an intentional community and non-profit land trust.
Our Vision
The land and it's inhabitants...Of the 105 acres, about 15 acres is "developed". The remaining acreage is 2nd growth forest, or replant. We have a very lovely wood, with some of the largest trees in the area. The farm also consists of about 1/4 mile of creek frontage as well as acreage on the opposite side of the creek. The front 65 acres was once home to a blueberry farm, and we have nearly an acre of 70 year old blueberry bushes (trees!). We have a fruit orchard, a sauna, some ducks and chickens, an old barn, a large organic garden, play area, and other outbuildings. We have a traditional bathtub/shower at the community house but no indoor toilet. We run the community house and projects in that area on a 75 amp grid service. The private dwellings use minimal electricity as well, household needs ranging from 0-25 amps. We currently have 8 adults (5 members and 2 renters) and 3 children in residence. We have many skills—journeyman carpenter, seamstress, teacher, mother, wild edibles enthusiast, homebrewer, knitter, musician, flamenco dancer, spinner, vaudeville and burlesque performer, gardener, tree planter, historian, technical drafter, father, counselor, dancer, laborer, fisherman, bellydance instructor, cook, writer, and much more. We are anarchists/socialists/discordians who are into both DIY living AND community. And a good life.
